The CEC Special Education Convention and Expo is one of our favorite events of the year. There’s always so much to look forward to. We’ve been talking to our friends at CEC and getting updates online at http://www.cecconvention.org/, and some of the highlights we’ve identified for this year are the following:
- Boston – Who doesn’t love Boston! Such a beautiful, historic city, and CEC2017 will have us there at one of the greatest times of the year— spring! The Hynes Convention Center is in the Back Bay neighborhood, in the heart of the city. While the days will be full with sessions and events, we look forward to sneaking out
during breaks to the nearby Copley Square. After a full day of learning and exploring the exhibit hall (don’t miss us at booth 824!!) there are a host of terrific restaurants and bars in the area to kick back and chew over what you’ve learned with colleagues and friends old and new. We especially recommend- Luke’s Lobster for succulent lobster rolls at lunch or for a casual dinner
- Boloco for bursting-at-the-seams burritos
- The Salty Pig – a neighborhood favorite for charcuterie, pizzas, pastas and a stellar bar menu,
- Atlantic Fish Company for a delectable splurge on super-fresh seafood
- The Welcome Reception – April 19 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm. It’s a great time to catch up with colleagues and old friends— some of whom we’ve not seen since last year’s CEC — and make plans for the coming days.
- Learning Labs – These are new to the Convention & Expo, but they definitely sound like something worth checking out. You’ll get an interactive, hands-on opportunity to explore various products, services, and concepts.
- Sessions – It’s always difficult to choose with so many interesting and relevant options, but we’re especially excited to peek our heads in on the following sessions, which are being presented by authors who have published with NPR, Inc. We know they know their stuff! In addition to being great writers, they’re also dynamic presenters
