The New NPR, Inc. Blog: A Message From Our President, Robert Hanson

Welcome to our new blog! This is just one of the many new and exciting features of our completely revamped website, www.nprinc.com. If you have not already, I invite you to poke around our new store. The welcome page walks you through many of the new elements of the website, and shows you how to find the exact educational resources you are looking for quickly and easily. Or, use the vertical menu to browse our extensive inventory of the hottest topics in education, from student assessment, to classroom management, bullying prevention, social emotional learning, Common Core State Standards, lesson planning, pre-service and in-service training/professional development, to topics in special education such as inclusion, Response to Intervention, IEP, assistive technology, and many more. You can also browse by product type, selecting form books, quick reference laminated guides, DVDs, multimedia professional development modules, and more—over 1600 titles in all, and all available in one place: the new NPRinc.com!

Our new and improved website is just one of the many upgrades and changes we are undertaking during this exciting time at National Professional Resources. For our inaugural blog post, I wanted to let you know about some of the other changes in the works for us; changes that will better enable us to meet the needs of all our customers, from individual teachers, administrators, parents, and students, to school districts, graduate schools of education, and staff development professionals.

First, I would like to formally announce that my longtime colleague, Dr. Joseph Casbarro, has been appointed our first chief operating officer. Joe has been involved in NPR, Inc. for more than two decades, in various capacities. He knows our business and the field of education/special education as well as anyone, and is the perfect person to lead the day-to-day operations of NPR, Inc. You can view Joe’s bio here.

As the company’s founder, I will remain its president. My wife, Helene will continue on as vice president, a role she assumed after retiring from her career as a special education administrator. We will maintain administrative offices in Port Chester, NY, where we have been based since our inception, however our warehouse and distribution center will move to Florida in early 2014.

I’m also pleased to announce that Bob Spata has joined the NPR, Inc. team as our educational sales consultant exclusively for New York City schools. Bob spent his entire 40-year educational career in the New York City school system, where his positions included teacher, dean of students, assistant principal and (for 21 years) school principal. Bob is available to personally demonstrate our professional development materials to New York City schools customers.

I look forward to keeping you updated through occasional posts on this blog. The blog will also feature guest posts by our authors and other experts, as well as insight and commentary on a range of current issues in the field of education. I invite you to subscribe to our blog, and share your comments on posted content. We look forward to hearing from you!
